Spiral Mental Performance
As with all sports, performance on the ultimate field is tied directly to your own mental game. You want to play with confidence, consistency, and concentration. You want to minimize overthinking and performance anxiety, and prevent burnout.
Marshall Lian is getting his masters in clinical mental health counseling, and is currently a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) candidate. He has also coached ultimate at the club nationals level. Marshall launched Spiral Mental Performance to help athletes and teams get past any mental hurdles they face, and to have them playing their best.
Marshall and I both believe strong mental wellbeing is critical in life and in ultimate. And just like physical health, mental performance is something you need to train for. As an athlete, that includes training that is specific to your sport. We are partnered to provide you with support on the field and in your mind.
